Congratulations to all our Year 13s on a fantastic set of A level results!
Five CHHS sixth formers have secured prestigious places at Oxford or Cambridge following the release of this year’s results and, in total, 70 per cent of leavers will be heading for Russell Group universities and studying subjects including Politics, Economics, Maths, Psychology, Geography and English Literature.
Eight students are set to become medics and dentists and one is fulfilling their dream of studying veterinary science following a difficult two years of their school career due to the COVID-19 pandemic and changing guidelines.
Rowan Stamp, who achieved all nines in his GCSEs two years ago, has secured a place at Cambridge reading Spanish and French after achieving four A*s. Sam Burbridge is also off to Cambridge to read Natural Sciences.
Emma Doe has won a place at Oxford to read Psychology and Philosophy. Maeve Ewing joins her to read Philosophy, Politics and Economics and Katy Griffiths will be studying Earth Sciences.
Head of school Dave Brown said: “Yet again our amazing students have risen to the challenge and have taken whatever Covid has thrown at them in their stride. Despite the disruption, they have worked conscientiously throughout and have achieved a fabulous set of results. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them! Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure that their students are now in prime position to open the door to the future of their choice.”
