Cheadle Hulme High School is celebrating another bumper year of A-Level results with seven students achieving a magnificent clean sweep of straight A*s – that’s 25 top A* grades between them!
Our students achieved a 100 per cent pass rate with one in five of all students gaining three or more straight A*/As. Half of our 132 A-Level students scooped three or more A*/A/Bs.
The school’s ‘Magnificent Seven’ are Jo Johnson, Rachel Pindar, Abigail Mountenay, Ben Tocher, Saimah Choudhry, Molly Johnson and Clara Jarvis. Jo is one of four students heading off to study medicine alongside Sana Arshad, Muzammil Khan and Harry Widdowson.
Clara Jarvis, who is going to study Mathematics at Cambridge, said: “When I was 10 I asked my dad which is the best university to study at and what is the best subject. He said Mathematics at Cambridge University. I decided then that that’s where I wanted to go. Receiving my grades and my confirmation to Cambridge has been a dream come true!”
Joining Clara at Cambridge is Emily McDermott who will be reading Mathematics at King’s College, while Rachel Pindar is heading to Lincoln College, Oxford to read Chemistry.
Head Dave Brown said: “We are delighted to see our students achieve such a fantastic set of results. Our school’s ethos is all about enabling our young people to open the door to the future of their choice and with results like these they’ve certainly done that.”
