Following the wave of cultural celebration at Cheadle Hulme High School’s recent diversity event and poetry competition, this week saw another exciting chapter unfold! We hosted a captivating Mother Tongue Other Tongue poetry recital, where nearly 30 students embraced the opportunity to share their voices. From original compositions to cherished poems in their home languages, these young wordsmiths painted a vibrant picture of cultural exchange.

The atmosphere was fantastic, as the audience, captivated by the sheer diversity, witnessed poems recited in over five different languages. Eighteen students took centre stage, their voices weaving stories and emotions that transcended language barriers. Their dedication and talent were rewarded with well-deserved Oracy badges, a testament to their exceptional performances. A big round of applause to all participants – your linguistic artistry and willingness to share your heritage truly left a mark!
