Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS) is proud to have achieved the Rainbow Flag Award.
This national award focuses on positive LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender plus other related identities) inclusion and visibility in schools.
The award fosters a whole organisation approach, including the implementation of strategies to effectively challenge and combat bullying targeted at those who identify as LGBT+.
To achieve the Rainbow Flag Award, we made a commitment to taking a positive whole-school approach to LGBT+ inclusion, focusing on six areas of the school:
- Skilled Teacher
- Supportive governors and parents
- Effective policies
- Inclusive curriculum
- Pastoral support
- Student voice
Having passed all six areas, we’re thrilled to have achieved the Rainbow Flag Award this January.
At CHHS, we work hard to ensure our school is a safe and inclusive place that celebrates diversity and makes all people visible.
We would like to thank our school community for fostering an inclusive environment and allowing our school to be a place where everyone can feel safe and thrive.
