Year 8 student Macey is looking forward to a musical summer holiday. The talented cornet player, who successfully auditioned for the National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain (NCBBGB) earlier in the year, will be attending the band’s Summer Residential which is being held in Derbyshire at the end of July.
Macey started playing the cornet when she was seven years old and took part in our virtual concert recently. She is currently at Grade 6. She was delighted to be accepted by the NCBBGB in a highly competitive national process. The NCBBGB is the UK’s leading brass band charity for children and young people.
At this summer’s residential the band will be conducted by Prof Nicholas Childs who is a leading figure in the world-wide brass community and is currently Principal Conductor and Director of Music of the famous Black Dyke Band.
