It has been a busy couple of months at Cheadle Hulme High School this half term.
To end what has been a brilliant year, we have wrapped up some of the highlights from the past couple of months!
Winter Wonderland
At the end of November, students at CHHS got us all into the festive spirit with their Winter Wonderland music concert.
Well done once again to all who made the night a success!
CHHS named highest achieving comprehensive school in the northwest
We were all thrilled to hear that Cheadle Hulme High School was named as the highest achieving comprehensive school in the northwest in the most recent Parent Power.
A huge thank you to all our dedicated staff, students and parents!
Christmas Book Swap
There were lots of books under the tree in the library for the Christmas Book Swap!
Over the past few weeks, students have been bringing in their old books in exchange for a token that they can redeem at the Book Swap.
Students were able to pick a new book from under the tree to take home with them – what a great way to find a new read for over the Christmas break!

Food Stylist pays a visit to GCSE students
In November, we were visited by Food Stylist, Recipe Creator and Owner of the Cheadle Hulme based At The Kitchen, Angela Boggiano.
Angela visited GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition students to give them hints and tips on how to style their dishes for their upcoming practical examinations.
She talked about using different crockery, backgrounds and lighting in an imaginative way to showcase their dishes.
Angela demonstrated how to style a simple dish of pancakes showing how it could be transformed using different plates, background colours and textures, fresh fruit and golden syrup.
She then styled a Quinoa salad with fresh vegetables, herbs and a creamy dressing, all served on a beautiful platter.
She concluded her visit by answering questions on her career and how she became a Food Stylist.
Angela’s visit has inspired our students to think about creative ways to style their dishes and they have been putting these tricks into practice ever since!
Christmas cards for Christies
An amazing £915 has been collected in our Christmas cards for Christies appeal.
The Christie charity provides care and treatment to cancer patients and their families.
This is an annual appeal for staff at CHHS where, instead of sending cards to colleagues, staff each make a donation to the Christie instead.
A big Christmas card email is sent to staff from all who donate.
Thank you to everyone who donated!
Photography Calendar Competition winners
In November, the winning entries for the annual calendar competition were announced!
The calendar is available to purchase via ParentPay.
See all the shortlisted photos here.
That’s a wrap!
From all of us here at Cheadle Hulme High School, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
